In every role of my professional, volunteer, and family life, I have thrived on connecting people and organizations with their full potential. I spent my early career in recruiting and HR in the financial services and consulting industries. For me, recruiting was like a puzzle, where all the pieces were human! I especially loved recruiting for brand-new positions, helping hiring managers craft and revise (and revise and revise) job descriptions, meeting lots of different types of candidates, and looking for that perfect fit. Finding a needle in a haystack of resumes was so rewarding!
After my husband Mark and I moved to Charlottesville, I spent more than a decade at home full-time with our three kids. My return to paid work was a bit scattershot, as I looked for a fulfilling profession that fit with our family’s busy life. I tried out different roles in the nonprofit world and I dabbled in recruiting again. Once I discovered the field of career coaching, I knew I had found my “second act.”
