About

Holly

I’m a connector of people and ideas. I love connecting with old friends, new friends, and perfect strangers, and as a coach it’s my privilege to connect clients more deeply with themselves – their motivations, interests, strengths, needs, challenges, and goals. I want to help you maximize your natural talents to find clarity, confidence, and goals that excite you.

My Story

In every role of my professional, volunteer, and family life, I have thrived on connecting people and organizations with their full potential. I spent my early career in recruiting and HR in the financial services and consulting industries. For me, recruiting was like a puzzle, where all the pieces were human! I especially loved recruiting for brand-new positions, helping hiring managers craft and revise (and revise and revise) job descriptions, meeting lots of different types of candidates, and looking for that perfect fit. Finding a needle in a haystack of resumes was so rewarding!

After my husband Mark and I moved to Charlottesville, I spent more than a decade at home full-time with our three kids. My return to paid work was a bit scattershot, as I looked for a fulfilling profession that fit with our family’s busy life. I tried out different roles in the nonprofit world and I dabbled in recruiting again. Once I discovered the field of career coaching, I knew I had found my “second act.”

Combining my recruiting experience with my love for connecting people and ideas felt like I had landed my dream role. This work – perfectly aligned with my values, motivations, and strengths – brings me energy rather than draining it. I love helping my clients find this same connection.

I’ve been on all sides of a job search: resume screener, candidate sourcer, hiring manager, candidate, workforce returner, and now career coach. I know that job-seekers need a clear vision of their goals and strengths, a compelling presentation of their experience and value, and a comprehensive strategy for finding their next great thing. And I know that taking the time to thoughtfully and carefully approach a career move leads to the best final result.

In case you’re into credentials: I have a BA in psychology from the University of Virginia and completed my coach training through Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business. I’m a certified EQ-i 2.0 emotional intelligence coach and an Individual Directions Inventory practitioner. I’m a mom to three teenagers and married to a lawyer, so I’m always up for a challenge! I’d love to hear from you and explore how we can work together to find your next act. I know it is going to be great.

All the best,

Holly
